Vacancy for Trainee Well Engineer/Well Site Drilling Engineer WSDE

Responsible for assisting the DSV (and NDSV when applicable) with all aspects of day-to-day on-site planning and reporting. Assist supervising the execution of drilling, completion and work over activities, whilst maintaining well integrity, maximum HSE focus and operational efficiency, at optimum level of cost versus benefit.  Assist with liaison and supervision of personnel related to these activities as delegated by the DSV and NDSV.

Dimensions: Based on the rig site on/offshore on a rotating schedule in Europe operations, UK, Norway, NL and others as and when they occur. The trainee will evolve to have good liaison skills, demonstrate the ability to lead a multi disciplinary team with a high awareness of project management, Cost Engineering, Quality Management and HSE principles and issues.

Qualification requirement:

• Dutch Bachelor of Engineering/HTS-diploma Chemische Technologie, Werktuigbouwkunde or AOT,  or
• UK HND (Higher National Diploma) Mechanical or Automative Engineering
• OR soon to be graduated in one of the above

Primary responsibilities

• Complete WDLP Distance learning package and associated development courses, with emphasis on the relevant HSSE awareness elements, culminating in Shell R 1 and R 2 exam passes
• To be familiar with and ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company Management System Procedures.
• Drilling Engineering calculations (bit & hole cleaning hydraulics, swab & surge pressures, torque & drag, etc).
• Technical reporting, Performance reporting, Preparing casing tallies.
• Preparing tubing tallies, Cost monitoring and pursuit of potential Cost Saving plans.
• Supervision of DD/MWD, Mud, Cementing, electric wireline logging sub-contractors
• Complete relevant Radiation training and assist supervise on site radiation activities
• Maintain Chemical inventories to fulfill legal requirements.
• Complete training & assist in routine geological sampling and description reports.
• Short /medium term planning of operations.
• Participate in, contribute to and eventually hold safety talks.
