De energietransitie weg van kolen gaat daarom in een ander tempo — soms is het zo basaal als de vraag of je voldoende geld hebt om de stroom voor een lamp te kunnen betalen, zodat je kind kan studeren.”\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E“In Europa ligt de focus van de energietransitie meer op het verminderen van milieuschade en vervuiling, en is er meer bereidheid om te betalen voor schonere energie”, legt ze uit. “Mensen in Europa zijn bereid om te investeren voor toekomstige generaties, en er is meer bereidheid geld te steken in duurzame oplossingen. Uiteindelijk zullen schone technologieën zo wereldwijd toegankelijker worden. Dat is geen toeval, maar het resultaat van bewuste keuzes van de organisatie.”\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Ch3\u003E\u003Cb\u003ERuimte maken om erbij te horen\u003C/b\u003E\u003C/h3\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EZe beschrijft de projectomgeving als een plek waar mensen rekening houden met elkaars behoeften. “Toen ik om een moederkamer vroeg op de bouwplaats, waren zelfs mijn collega’s verrast. Ik had het ontbreken van zo’n ruimte niet eerder opgemerkt, totdat ik moeder werd en het nodig had voor verzorging van mijn kind. Ik ben dankbaar dat het snel werd geregeld.”\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E“Ook al wordt het niet vaak gebruikt, het hebben van die ruimte geeft een duidelijk signaal: jonge moeders zijn hier welkom, en ze horen thuis op een bouwplaats”, stelt Priya. “Inclusie gaat verder dan gelijkheid tussen man en vrouw. That is not by chance, but the result of deliberate and conscious choices by the organisation.”\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Ch3\u003E\u003Cb\u003EMaking space to belong\u003C/b\u003E\u003C/h3\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EShe describes the project environment as one where people are mindful of each other’s needs. “When I asked for a mother’s room at the construction site, even my colleagues were surprised. I hadn’t noticed the absence of such a space until I became a mother and needed it. I’m grateful it was quickly made possible.”\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E“Even if it’s not used often, having that space sends a clear message: young mothers are welcome here, and they belong on a construction site,” Priya says. “Inclusion goes beyond gender.
