Race met de Forze IX

Shell was al een paar jaar hoofdsponsor van het team, maar door dit in februari 2023 uit te breiden naar volledig partnerschap, kunnen zowel het Forze Racing Team als Shell samen verder groeien. Voor Shell is de Forze IX een ideaal platform om bijvoorbeeld onze e-Fluids voor elektrische auto’s onder extreme omstandigheden te testen.
Want net als conventionele wagens, heeft een motor en versnellingsbak van een elektrische auto (duurzame) smeermiddelen nodig. Om zo frictie en verhitting te beperken en daarmee schade aan bewegende onderdelen te voorkomen. Het maakt daarbij niet uit of de auto rijdt op een batterij of op (hernieuwbare) waterstof.
Technologische vooruitgang in de racesport maakt vaak in een of andere vorm de sprong naar het gewone verkeer.

We love for suspension and you just cannot beat that fire. This is exactly what we need to get hydrogen going now for the showcases that the excitement of car racing can be combined with hydrogen application. And Shell believes that hydrogen has a critical role to play to decarbonize society in the short term, especially in mobility for vehicles like trucks, busses and cars.

Leo van der Eijk (28) racet in de waterstofauto van Forze. Als eerste waterstofcoureur versloeg hij in 2019 zijn concurrenten op benzine. Ook in de nieuwste Forze IX staat hij aan de start.
